Faith & Service

priest saying mass at altar

It is the living out of our Catholic Faith that sets Notre Dame High School apart from other secondary schools in the Chattanooga area. All that we do as a school is therefore meant to help proclaim Jesus Christ to all that we meet. As such, fostering Gospel values and helping students learn how to live a Christ-centered life is our primary responsibility. With this in mind the school strives to foster a commitment to serving our brothers and sisters and in taking time to reflect on our own relationships with God.

During the school year we try and keep Christ first and foremost in our hearts and minds by beginning and ending each school day with prayer. Mass is offered each morning (except on All School Mass days) in the chapel at 7:30 am. School-wide Masses are offered every Thursday and on major Feasts during the school day. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is currently available by appointment with the chaplain and is offered communally during the Advent and Lenten seasons.

Ultimately it is the hopes of Notre Dame that every student who graduates will do so with a deeper knowledge of their faith, an experience of a lived relationship with Christ, and a realization of who it is that God has created them to be and the life He has called them to live.
