CHATTANOOGA, TN - Head of School Deacon Hicks Armor and Athletics Director Brian Gill are pleased to announce that Larry Hunt has been named the Head Coach of the Notre Dame High School Girls’ Softball team. Hunt has been coaching youth softball since 2011. In 2014 he founded the “Chattanooga KHAOS” girls’ youth softball organization, and over the last nine years he has had great success with his fast-pitch Khaos teams. For the past three years he has been the assistant coach at Howard High School.
“Coach Hunt is very connected in the Chattanooga youth softball community. He has built his KHAOS softball teams from scratch, and this makes him the right person to lead and build the Notre Dame Softball program.”

Head Coach- Girls’ Softball
Larry Hunt has a commitment and dedicated passion for coaching softball. In 2011, he began coaching girls’ softball at the youth level. He is the founder and coach of the “Chattanooga KHAOS” softball organization. In 2022, his 18 & Under team finished fourth overall in the National Tournament in Orange Beach, AL. For the past three years he has been an assistant coach at Howard High School under the guidance of Heather Kilgore. He has had multiple players attend and land on college softball teams.
Coach Hunt is a 1998 graduate of Brainerd High School. He attended Hiwassee Junior College to study sports management and played baseball for one season. Currently, he works for the City of Chattanooga, Dept. of Community and Development where he serves as a Community Specialist and mentor for the past 12 years.
