Owen Maddox Announced as Finalist for Tennessee “Mr. Football” Kicker of the Year

NASHVILLE, TN- On Tues., Nov. 25th the TSSAA announced that Notre Dame Football Senior Owen Maddox has been named as a 2025 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Finalist for Kicker of the Year.  The names of the three finalists for each category were announced live on the Titans Football Show by Taylor Zarzour and Titans interim head coach Mike McCoy at 6:30pm CT/7:30pm ET.

This season Maddox has a long field goal of 52 yards vs. CCS to win the game.  He has made 21-23 PATs, scored a total of 39 pts. for the Irish, and in 42 kickoff attempts he has sent 36 to the endzone for touch backs.  Maddox has helped the Fighting Irish reach the State Playoffs for the first time since 2018.

A committee of statewide sports writers selected winners based on performance in the 2025 regular season. Academics and character were also taken into consideration. High school head coaches and members of the media nominated the finalists.

“We are so proud of Owen’s well deserved acknowledgment as a finalist for the Mr. Football Award,” said Head Coach Brent Hill.  “He was a tremendous asset to our team, and very big reason we had the turnaround we did this season.  He is a great teammate that loves his team, and consistently changed the field position of our opponents and scored when challenged.”

The three finalists for each award that were announced will be the ones invited to attend the awards luncheon at Nissan Stadium on Dec. 9th, where the winner of each award will be announced.
