Dear Notre Dame Family,
The Lord has risen, Alleluia!
At the beginning of the Easter Vigil, during the Service of Light, one of
the ministers sings the Easter Proclamation, the ancient Easter Hymn of
praise: “Rejoice, O Mother Church! Exult in glory! The risen Savior shines
upon you! Let this place resound with joy, echoing the mighty song of all
God’s people!” As we return to our studies and formation at NDHS, we return
rejoicing in the great work of redemption and sanctification given to us and
the whole world through the obedience of God’s Son Jesus Christ. Just as
churches all over the world this past Easter praised the wonders of God’s
gift of salvation, it is my intention as chaplain and Mr. Storey’s as
principal to have this place resound with the joy of our salvation in Jesus
Christ.
This Friday, we will again have our first Friday devotion of the Most
Blessed Sacrament and we hope to have as many parents and friends of NDHS
here as possible for a time of prayer and adoration. During the Easter
Season, from now until the Solemnity of Pentecost, it is a good time to pray
and be thankful for the gift of our Savior and especially for his
resurrection and the hope it offers us in eternal life. Let us thank him for
the gift of his life by prayer and adoration.
We will begin Adoration after the 7:30 am Mass and have benediction at
3:20 pm. I invite you to come and join us for a holy hour or holy half-hour
and let us together thank our Heavenly Father for his Son’s obedience and
sacrifice. I personally will offer a Holy Hour for our Senior Class as they
prepare to transition from high school to whatever God has in store for
them. Our children are our priority and treasure, and together let us open
our hearts to Christ in praise and worship and ask God to bless our them
with his abundant Graces. You can sign up for a time to worship by
contacting Jenny Rittgers at ext. 1614 or myself at ext. 1006, or if you
just have a few moments, come in and make a quick visit and pray for our
students and for God’s blessing on our school.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Reverend Tony Dickerson Chaplain,
Notre Dame High School
